Okay, so first off, I wanna say that Dol Amroth does have very beautiful scenery. And the seagulls flying above the blue banners and pennants really captures the feeling of being close to the sea. But I do have some issues with other things.
1) Most importantly, what on earth are all those huge statues of heads doing on the cliffside and all around the city/castle? I know about the Númenórians, so I imagine them to be symbols and reminders of the "kings of old", and that is fine.. I just think Turbine overdid it. Greatly. They are everywhere! I captured ONE screenshot of the city, and I counted EIGHT heads in that screenshot only. Some of them pretty huge. In my opinion, Dol Amroth would look much better if they were removed, at least 90% of them. Or optionally made smaller, so they don't take up and distort so much of Dol Amroth's appearance. It doesn't make the city look more grand, if that's what they're meant to do and portray; it only makes the city feel more cluttered and disorganized.
2) Cluttered and disorganized are also key words for the wings as well. The wings are cool enough, and should be there, but they look like play-dough just glued on the buildings. And there are also too many of them for my liking. I would be fine if only some of the highest and/or most important of the towers had wings. Simplicity is sometimes overlooked and undermined, and that is one such case.
3) The swan-ships are also "cool enough", but the swans are made of the same play-dough as the wings. And I'm sure they would sink, being that heavy (I imagine the play-dough is meant to be iron) at the hull.
Maybe I am taking this way too seriously, but Turbine's version of Dol Amroth does not live up to my expectations and is very different from how I imagined it from the books. This picture is more like how I had imagined it to be: http://www.councilofelrond.com/wp-co...tures/4544.jpg.
What are your thoughts on Dol Amroth? And please don't just say "awesome" because it's something new to the game and you're all on cloud nine. I want proper viewpoints.
