I've played MMO's for a long time, starting with Ultima Online in the late 90s. I've enjoyed most of them but none have touched me like LOTRO. Old school pre CU Star Wars Galaxies was a close second with the emphasis on immersion but LOTRO reigns supreme with drawing me into another world. With other MMOs, I feel like I'm playing a game, with LOTRO I feel like I'm actually there.
A good example is are the dwarven graves at the Hollin Gate. To this day I still stop and bow every time I pass by them.

Or when I made it to the Last Bridge. I felt like I finally made it to the edge of civilization.

To all the people that laugh at us that love this game and role play and do pie runs(everyone of my characters gets the prized pie) this is pretty much my answer.

I freakin love this game and have a blast every time I play, even after 6 years. I carp and complain,(the forum mods have got to be sick of me making posts about the Beta Forum), but damn, I love this game. I'll be sharing a toast with you good people in Mordor.
