Itemization and Helms Deep

With the great announcement of Helms Deep and the LOTRO council, I have great hopes for better means to satisfy your costumers in a variety of play styles.

The main reason I'm starting this thread is the lack of incentive I find to log in at the moment. I never took breaks. I never got "bored" and went to play another game. I never overplayed LOTRO to the point of saturation. Been here since April 07, open beta.

As a completionist, I like to have all deeds done, all quests done (specifically in my main toon). That includes festivals, mounts, goodies, lootboxes loot, wardrobe, crafting etc.

Champion boots (the golden ones). I ran Dungeons to the ground back when loot was dropping there... No luck. I ran WP to the ground to get 2 rings back in the day. No luck. My kin completed BG maybe a dozen times. No luck.

After literally giving up on Annuminas bracelets (I can count over 150 runs easily) I told my self "It's just bad luck, keep trying and you will get it eventually". And as I grouped I saw a few folks with a bracelet (or two, Illy) and I was actually happy for them. Great. They got it, nice job. :)

Until I gave up because it's just infuriating after all these runs... I mean... Is this the purpose of fun? Hummm...

So I totally shifted gears and started doing Sword Halls runs. Multiple runs. About 10 a day. With a burg and a cappy we were averaging 3:20s per run (Thx Rosenthal, Allora, Chalo...). And that has been my nights of LOTRO. Hang out with knimates, discuss recruiting needs, 2 hours tops a night. On the weekend I ran it maybe 20 times a day.

10 days later here we are. So lets say 120 runs.

Before logging a got a tell from a champ who wanted to join yet another run of Sword Halls. I immediately said sure why not... And decided to inspect him/her.

What is the good thing about this itemization system? Where do I find motivation to run any instance one more time for an item that I've sought so much?

Conclusion (and point of this thread): make sure the system (whatever it may be) in Helms Deep is tested to give everyone a fair chance. Khafar (one of the idols of these boards) always mentions that everyone regarding his/her playstyle should have a path to the cheese. Since skill is not really important anymore, please allow people who put time into getting something a fair chance to actually get it. Since RNG is not helping, at least make time a viable path.
