Here's something strange. Has anyone else noticed?
Pages in the forums take a long time to load - for me it's generally around 15-20 seconds when I click on a topic before the page loads. Today, I was browsing the forums and pages were loading almost instantly - something you'd pretty much expect considering it's mostly just text that's downloading - and after a while I noticed that, for some reason - I'd actually been logged out. So, I logged back in, it took about 20 seconds for that to happen and, straight away, I noticed that pages were taking 15-20 seconds to load again. I thought, "That's weird. I wonder if being logged in makes a difference?" So, I logged out, started browsing and, sure enough, pages were loading almost instantly again.
Just to make sure it was repeatable, I logged out and in 3 times, making sure I exited my browser (Chrome) each time and it was exactly the same all 3 times.
So, is this something that other people have noticed? Do people have slow page loading times when reading the forums. If so, try what I did to see if the same thing happens. Could be interesting to see if it's just me, or if this is an actual issue with the site that anyone not logged in can browse the forums faster than anyone who IS logged in.
