For the first time since I've been playing I brought a hobbit through Book 1 of the epic quest and I've got to say I have no idea how he hasn't succumbed to exhaustion. Based on events from the books and the fact that certain quests and instances only happen at night my best guess for the timeline of my hobbit's story so far is:
September 24th, 3018 or 1418 by Shire Reckoning - While walking around at night on stock road bumped into Bounder Boffin, Frodo, Sam, Pip and a Black Rider and get captured by brigands. Apparently travelled all night to blackwolds camp where he's rescued by Strider.
September 25th - Woke up in Archet, helped out around the valley and ended up fighting in the Battle of Archet that night.
September 26th - Didn't take time to rest after the battle, but instead headed straight back to Little Delving. Putzed around Michele Delving and Waymeet for a bit, then headed to Needlehole where I defeated a stone troll that night.
September 27th - After delivering the mail to Michele Delving he had adventures in Tuckburough, Hobbiton, Overhill, Bywater, Woodhall, Stock and Budgeford (I know the Shire's not a huge place, but finishing up all of the quests in these areas in one day seems a bit exsessive) ending his day chasing the "Black Rider" out of Odovacar's field.
September 28th - After doing some adventuring around Scary and Brockenboring and riding back and forth to Michele Delving to drop off a skull he defeats a goblin chief at Mount Gram and then heads towards Bree.
September 29th - Met Strider, attacked a Blackwold stronghold, killed a Cargul, travelled to Combe that same night and cleared a bunch of bugs out of the Blackwolds old hide-out before chasing off a mean looking dwarf.
September 30th - Up to this point, it's been tiring but here is where my hobbit shows that he may be a Valar masquerading as a hobbit...apparently on this day my hobbit would have killed bandits in Outlaw's Haven, half-orcs in Andrath, all sorts of animals on both sides of the Old Forest, hunted baby turtles all over the place, made a quick trip to Bamfurlong to talk to Farmer Maggot for the heck of it but couldn't use the ferry so went the long way around over the bridge, killed more bandits in Southern Bree Fields to help Adso out, made a pit stop in at Bree to chat with Strider before heading back to the Old Forest, killed wights and such around the Barrow Downs and ended his day in Othrongroth where Bombodil took out Sambrog for him before my hobbit went back with a party of friends and killed Sambrog again for good measure. Finally headed back to Bree where he chatted with Gandalf for a bit although it's possible this happened the next day before Gandalf left Bree. My hobbit was so tired at that point it's tough to say.
Now I suppose my hobbit could have rushed through the epic and left all of those people in Bree-land to their problems until after he spoke with Gandalf to spread out the quests done on the 30th, but it seemed rude to ignore those nice people with shiny rings over their heads. My hobbit apparently takes his sweet time getting to Saeradan's cabin and doesn't reach it until at least October 4th (since Gandalf's battle with the Nazgul has already happened by the time you reach the cabin), but that's a story for Book 2. Hopefully my hobbit is able to find a little more time for eating and napping in this Book.
