[April's fool] - "Minions of Mordor"

The LOTRO team announced that no PvMP update was scheduled for LOTRO. They were right… and wrong.

We’ve felt that many players were enjoying playing as Monster Players, but the system in place for LOTRO didn’t allow us to really match with our ambitions. So we decided to take a fresh start, and the result is “Minions of Mordor”™
Minions of Mordor™ is a full, stand alone, MMORPG, where you can play as a servant of Sauron, orc, goblin or corrupted human , level up through hundreds of quest, in a PvE environment, but also in PvP and through a new, exciting game mode: Agents.

As a monster, you will start from Mordor, visiting iconic locations such as Mount Doom, the Black Gate or Osgiliath, and head to the East, where you will help to extend Sauron’s power, and ultimately confront the Maiar sent there.
The PvP mod is not only a good news for LOTRO players who enjoy the game as Monster-players, but for all players who enjoy PvMP. Actually, there will be two new PvMP zones will open at the game’s release: Dagorlad and Pelennor’s Fields, where LOTRO’s heroes will fight against Minon of Mordor’s monsters. A new skirmish system will also be implemented, wher LOTRO’s players can confront MoM’s players.
The new gaming mode, “Agent” is also a revolution for players of both games. As a servant of Sauron, you will be given missions in LOTRO’s original zones. And LOTRO players will have to prevent you from achieving your goals. This new gaming mode will have a huge impact on LOTRO, as we will implement a system of level adjustment in the different zones so that the game will be faire between Free People and Sauron’s Agents.

Minions of Mordor’s Dev Team (along with LOTRO’s own Dev Team) is really excited to make you discover this new game, which will really change your experience of Middle Earth
